Discovering Ilocos Norte-Day 2 (part 2)

On our way to Ilocos Norte, the green bus stopped for us to take some pics of the breathtaking sight. The view was truly picturesque but a stranded ship was somehow an eyesore. It added drama. Yet, its oil spills would only deteriorate and kill the marine species.

Stranded Ship

We were running late for the lunch at Hannah’s Resort in Pagudpud.  I’ve heard praises for Pagudpud. But it was only when I saw it with my eyes did I agree that, yes, Pagudpud is another wonder in the Philippines.

The inviting waters of the Blue Lagoon

The  mouthwatering lobster was really a treat courtesy of Hannah’s Resort. I love it! And the waiters said, lobsters are priced at 250 per kilo in their market. Wow. It was my first time in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. Too bad, time was so short and schedule was tight to enjoy the inviting blue waters of the beach. Surely, Pagudpud, I’ll be back to take a dip nd snorkel :) From Pagudpud, we made our way to Paoay, Ilocos Norte for the scheduled activities.

We were supposed to do sandboarding and ride the 4 x 4 vehicle as scheduled but time did not permit us to do so. But still, we were fortunate enough that the Paoay Off Roaders Adventure Group accommodated us in their 4 x 4 vehicles. A night ride was fun enough especially if you’re fond of stargazing while being shaken by the bumpy ride on the hilly side of the beach.

For dinner, we filled our hungry stomachs at Saramsam Cafe in Laoag City.

They offered us the Poque-Poque Pizza, empanada with Dinuguan filling, and Miki noodles.

Vegetarians would surely enjoy the Poque-Poque since it does not have any meat. It was topped with grilled eggplant.

For meat lovers, the Empanada Dinuguan is a must-try. It is not the usual dinuguan. A sweet and sour dip adds some spice to the dish.

Meanwhile, the miki noodles is good to eat in a cold weather.

Hey Miki!

The night did not end with only the joy of eating and chatting. I broke the ice as I started singing at the videoke! hahaha. And so I discovered that my companions, composed of media practitioners and bloggers, were likewise videoke addicts. And yes, they have good voices :) Cheers to Marge, Raine, Poch, Melo, and Karlo!

We ended the day at the homey, Mira de Polaris Hotel in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte. Rates are affordable. An executive suite (condo-type two bedroom with one queen size bed, single beds, bath tub, kitchen, dining room, mini bar, living room) can accommodate two to four persons and costs Php 3,500.00.
