After stretching our muscles in the steep climb to the Callao Caves and rappelling on the rocky side of the mountain, the Lakbay Norte group sailed along the Pinacanauan River, which is one of the largest tributaries in the Cagayan River a.k.a. Rio Grande de Cagayan. Serenity exists in the calm waters of the river, where life can be simple as fishing and enjoying its crystal clear water.
Local kids enjoyed a dip in the cool and clear waters of the river.
The waters of Pinacanauan River is also perfect for kayaking especially if you just want to relax and reflect.
Since I learned how to paddle from my previous kayaking coverages, I did not let the chance pass to ride one and paddle along. When my arms got tired, I decided to lie down and observe the different formations of clouds in the sky. I closed my eyes. ZEN MODE. I was not afraid to fall from the kayak since I have the life vest. hehe. It was really refreshing.
At around 3:30 in the afternoon, I went back to the spot where the group was. Chitchats here and there while waiting for the 5:00 pm circadian flight of bats.
Patience was the key in capturing the supposedly scenic view. The sky became gloomy and drizzle poured after an hour. And so we bid the place goodbye. Maybe, the bats wanted us to come back to Penablanca, Cagayan.
