How much did I spend for Coron?

How much did you spend for your trip? This has always been the question of readers and friends who are planning their getaways.

Whenever I travel, I make it a point to jot down my expenses so as to monitor how cheap or expensive my trip was. During my Camsur trip, I spent Php 4,505.25 for the 4 days/3 Nights of getting to know Naga and Caramoan.

For my Coron island birthday adventure in 2010, the 4 Days/3 Nights summed up to Php 8,679.67/ person. It’s not really a budget trip since we splurged on food. It’s my birthday anyway. The memories were priceless.

But if we subtract the food (since this is a personal choice) and just compute the tour cost (via DIY CORON), accommodation and airfare, it would be Php 5,670/person.

Please see the breakdown below:

CORON DAY 1

CORON DAY 2

CORON Day 3

CORON Day 4

Hello Tess! That’s a great deal!
Actually, Puerto Princesa and Coron have different rates. But what you got were pretty affordable.

Thanks Trip@dora…s tingin mo ba oks lng magsama ng bata? 3yrs old to be exact…hndi pa delikado dahil sa malaria? ksi di ba prone sa palawan yun…

    • http://twitter.com/tripadora Trip@dora

Hello Hunter! Yes, it’s okay to bring a kid as long as he/she loves water. Every boat has a lifevest so don’t worry. About Malaria, I haven’t heard any case of Malaria in Coron but in the Southern part of Palawan, there were reported cases.

    • http://twitter.com/tripadora Trip@dora

yep, parang tulong na rin yung mga entrance fees. :)

    Hi,

Thanks for your blog. So okay ang DIY Coron para mag arrange ng tours? I’m thinking kase if Coron Wonders or DIY Coron kunin namin eh. Sinama kayo sa ibang group? If yes, ilan kayo originally na nag coron lang?

Also, we plan kase na sa Sea Dive Resort mag stay since plan naming mag dive. Ok lang ba na DIY Coron pa rin kunin namin kahit sa Sea Dive kame naka billet at hindi sa mga accredited inns nila? Also, we plan to skip Calauit tour as well to allot that day for the diving, okay rin ba yun? Thanks!

      Hello Toni!

Thanks for the visit. To answer your question (Sinama kayo sa ibang group?): No. It’s the other way around. I was the one who created the itinerary then Mai, Abi, and the couple joined us. Hence, we became 7 for the island hopping. I was with my parents. So we’re 3. The convenience that we had in the island hopping was the prepared and cooked lunch for us. Hiring a boat was easy in Coron since they have standard rates. Had I known, I would have directly contacted boatmen. But since it was my birthday, I want everything to be smooth.

Sea Dive is a good choice if you’re a group of divers. You can tell Owen or Judith not to include the accommodation in your package. Please tell Owen you read about my blog. Actually, marami na ang nag-sa-sign-up sa kanila nang dahil sa blog ko. Enjoy Coron!

Hi! What if walang mag-join sa tour ninyo? How much will be the rate for coron island loop tour? dalawa lang kasi kami. What ifkung mag-hire kmi ng boatman, me idea ka how much will be the rent?

  • jane

    Hi,

Me and My husband are scheduled to visit Coron on April next year. I am trying to plan out our itinerary in such a way that I can cover as much as many places as possible. I am having a hard time arranging the tour details per day since we will be arrive a bit late (9:15AM) and deaprting a bit early (3:05PM). I hope you could help me decide on what is the most optimal schedule that I take. BTW, I was inspired by your blog site so I tried to mimic your itinerary. hehe. below is what I got so far..

    First Day:
    Coron Island Tour **PRIVATE TOUR
    Second Day:
Banana Island / Malcapuya Island ** JOINERS TOUR
    Third Day Tour:
Calauit Safari Day Tour ** JOINERS TOUR
    Fourth Day:
    Town Tour Php **PRIVATE TOUR

I am unsure on what we can do in Malcapuya/Banana Island for the whole day or if it is worth it in staying there for a day. Are there any activities to be done in the island?

Would this be a good itinerary? I hope you could help me..

    Thanks in advance.. =)

    • http://twitter.com/tripadora Trip@dora

Hello there Jane! Thanks for visiting my site. Your itinerary is quite okay. Malcapuya is a place where you can reflect. It’s really quiet and pristine. I don’t know if they have kayaks there. But you can play volleyball. We saw other people playing volleyball when we went there. I can’t comment on Banana Island since we haven’t included it in our IT.

Your IT on your first day should be on the second day since island hopping takes a day based on our experience. So starting at 9 might be late. If you can transfer your second day to your first day, it might be better.

      Goodluck and enjoy!

        Thanks! =)

Hi your blog is great! was wondering if you could suggest an affordable and nice place to stay for a couple? Is it wise to get a Hotel and Tour package? did you reserve through the internet ?We are staying for 5 days and 4 nights I would really like to go to Caluit but was wondering if the long trip was worth it in such a short stay? sorry for all these questions but I just want to have the best time in what looks like the best place!:) Thank you for any info!!

  • Nathaniel

What if we booked thru DIY coron and no one join us, how much will be the rate of the tour, let say the coron island loop tour? Do you have any idea how much if we hire a boatman directly? We’re just a couple by the way. Pls. Reply. Thanks

    • http://www.tripadora.com/ Trip@dora

Hi Nathaniel! During my last visit to Coron in November 2010, the price for the Coron Island Loop tour was Php 1,500 if you directly negotiate with the boatman. Hope that answers your question.

  • Tj Tretasco

Hi Tripadora, I really appreciate your blog. It was very helpful. I just have a few question.  What if we arrive at the gateway port tapos dun na lang kami maghahanap ng kasama for island hopping. pwede ba un? and ano masasabi mo sa coron villa lodge? we are planning to stay there kasi eh.. thanks

    • http://www.tripadora.com/ Trip@dora

You can try waiting there at the port at t but it’s just a chance you’ll take to get joiners to join you. Coron Village Lodge is well-maintained.
