Not only humans ride public transportation at the San Jose Terminal but also a motorized boat (check photo above). The owner of the boat will transport it to Sabang, the jump-off to the newly declared member of the 7 wonders of nature, the Puerto Princesa Underground River.
Knowledge is power. This has been proven true time and again. But even though I was armed with research, I didn’t hesitate to approach the Tourist Assistance Desk at the Puerto Princesa City Airport and ask for directions.
The Tourist Policewoman seated at the chair gladly answered my question. She may be in uniform but she still has a smile to offer.
QUESTION: How do we get to San Jose Terminal?
ANSWER: Paglabas nyo ng airport, sakay kayo ng tricycle going to Junction 1. From Junction I, ride a multicab to San Jose Terminal. (When you get out of the airport, ride a tricycle bound for Junction 1 then ride another multicab from Junction 1 to get to the San Jose Terminal.)
Buses, vans and jeepneys going to Northern Palawan are located at the San Jose Terminal. It is where we will ride the RORO Bus to El Nido.
Though there were numerous vans, tricycle for hires at the airport, we chose to ride like a local because it’s cheaper. Even if we took two rides to get to San Jose Terminal, we saved more than hiring a cab from the airport.
Riding the public transport also led me to see how helpful Palawenos were.
DIRECTIONS to get to San Jose Terminal:
1. Exit the airport. It’s just a three-five minute walk. From the gate, ride a tricycle bound for Junction 1. Fare is only Php 8.00.
2. Alight at Junction 1. Take a multicab bound for San Jose Terminal. Fare is Php 12.00
